The Barn
5 Wings, A Moth?
sisters beach
no sisters one family no neighbours
now neighbours but hermits no town
a shop and some shacks and
his shed was in clutters
clutters of ideas
ideas of copper shining
of tigers climbing
but no gold-mine brilliance
3 Pence a Pot
the father traipsed the fallen tree
that lay across the creek
two things of importance he grasped
a child to his chest and
a teapot to his fingertips
4 Tyres a Block
off they moved block by block
into names, numbers and neighbourhoods
Sold!
and that one over there
for a one cow milking machine
yes, still the shed remains
